Scope

This workshop aims at fostering new individual collaborations between Germany, India and rest of the world, as well as laying the foundation for a visible and active network of collaborations, in the field of functional materials for energy harvesting, energy conversion and storage. The disciplines on which the workshop will focus are innovative materials and energy technologies, as well as analytical and computational modelling of energy systems.

A panel of internationally renowned scientists will put forward their thoughts on forming new scientific alliances and cooperation among scientists from India, Germany and abroad to tackle the materials challenges for new technologies. Especially the field of regenerative and environmentally-abundant sources of energy offers immense synergies among the collaborating countries.

The workshop will primarily cover following topics:

  • Innovative processing of functional materials for energy applications
  • Functional materials for renewable fuels, energy generation, energy storage devices, photocatalysis, solar hydrogen, fuel cells and photovoltaics
  • Sustainability in functional materials
  • Integration and technology transfer
  • Challenges & Opportunities in Advanced Materials

Young Professional Networking Session

A focused session is planned during the workshop to enable the young professionals to interact with their established peers to discuss the collaborative landscape especially important for junior faculty members.

Venue

The workshop will be held from 17.-19. December 2015 in the Park Hotel New Delhi located very close to the Connaught Circus, New Delhi.
